Power Vinyasa
Power Vinyasa, founded by Walt and Baron Baptiste, is a vigorous form of yoga inspired by the teachings of Krishnamacharya and his son Desikachar. Oriented towards building strength and stability, power vinyasa generally takes place in a heated room, although not to the level of intensity of Bikram/hot yoga.
YogaWorks Flow
The YogaWorks style seeks to combine the best of Ashtanga and Iyengar into one form. Ashtanga, known for its dynamism and physical intensity, is blended with the meticulous attention to alignment, props, and safety for which Iyengar is known. The result is an energetic physical practice that uses specific cues to help develop bodily awareness and correct positioning.
Vinyasa Flow
The most popular form of yoga in the US, Vinyasa Flow is a balancing act, simultaneously physically strenuous, but always controlled, matching breath and movement. Vinyasa Flow is a great way to develop discipline and regulation of the energy in your body, cultivating focus and attention.
Hatha
In modern yoga parlance, Hatha yoga generally refers to a physical yoga practice that may not be quite as fast-paced as the other types listed here. Using traditional postures held for a longer time, Hatha yoga nourishes the body, and promotes patience, quieting of the mind, and attention to breath.
